The ICRC and the Iranian Red Crescent Society (IRCS) have developed strong partnership and work closely together towards achieving common goals.
The two organizations are members of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement. A wide range of the ICRC’s programs and activities in Iran are carried out in partnership with IRCS. A five-year Partnership Framework Agreement which was signed in 2012, defines the main areas of cooperation between the two partners including:
• Physical Rehabilitation
• Mine Risk Education
• Promotion of International Humanitarian Law (IHL) and Humanitarian Values
• Restoring Family Links (RFL)
• Health and Health Care in Danger
The two partners also work with a local NGO in a tripartite project to provide primary health and physical rehabilitation services as well as hygiene and First Aid education to vulnerable populations in suburbs of Mashhad, Khorasan Razavi Province.
Communication, Logistics, and Disability Inclusion are also among other areas and themes of cooperation between the two partners.
