This 5-day course began in Tehran and was held by the International Committee of the Red Cross, the Iranian Red Crescent Society, and Baqiyatallah University of Medical Sciences, with the participation of 50 selected members of the rapid response and primary medical care teams of the Iranian Red Crescent Society.
At the opening ceremony, Mr. Moradipour, Director General for Passive Defense of the Red Crescent Society, referring to the last two periods of escalation of conflicts in Iran, said: “This course provides the participants with the opportunity to learn how to use safety equipment related to chemical incidents prepared in cooperation with the International Committee of the Red Cross and chemical defense training in cooperation with Baqiyatallah University of Medical Sciences.” He also said that this course will continue to be held for other Red Crescent Society employees.
Mr. Dr. Bagheri, Head of the Chemical Injury Center of Baqiyatallah University of Medical Sciences, also thanked the International Committee of the Red Cross for its cooperation in holding this course and commended the committee’s quick action to provide safety and personal protection equipment related to chemical incidents.
In this workshop, participants will learn about different types of chemicals, how to use safety equipment, how to provide assistance to the affected population, how to decontaminate people affected by chemicals, and how to provide relief and rescue to the population affected by chemical agents during war.
This course will be held in two theoretical and practical modules, along with simulation sessions.
