Every year, the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement helps thousands of people find a missing family member through the Restoring Family Links network. For this, we would need information about the requester and the missing family member that is looked for: name, date of birth, origin, circumstances that led to the separation and other information that identifies the missing person.

We ask for this information in order to be able to help the requester find his/her missing family member, but at the same time we are aware that this is the ‘personal data’ we are asking for and it belongs to the requester. Some people may have considerations regarding how this data is used and shared with other institutions or organizations. They may want to have access to their own data, correct or even erase it or simply ask us not to share this data with a specific organization or institution.
